Elsie Chan R.Ac
Elsie has been a Registered Acupuncturist in British Columbia since 2005, and a Qi Gong healer since 1997. She has over 20 years of experience in alternative medicine treatment, and has also been working in the health care system in B.C. for more than 25 years. She is fluent in English, Cantonese and Mandarin.
Elsie’s acupuncture and Qi Gong capabilities are directing the flow of qi, clearing blockages and enhancing the circulation of blood in the meridians, regulating qi and blood, and balancing yin and yang. With Elsie’s treatments, she has helped many people feel significant improvement in the conditions being treated, as well as overall improvement in the “whole body”, e.g. better sleep, stress reduction, rejuvenation, etc. Elsie’s treatments can be effective not just for addressing health problems, but also great for people interested in optimizing, improving energy level and rejuvenation.
Elsie strongly believes that traditional Chinese medicine and western medicine combined will provide patients with the best care and treatment that they deserve.
Elsie’s treatments include using acupuncture, acupressure, Chinese massage (Tui Na), Qi Gong, moxibustion, cupping and scraping. She specializes in the treatment of pain (neck, shoulders/frozen shoulders, back, limbs, sciatica) and movement limitations, insomnia, stress, depression, anxiety, headache/migraine, digestive problems (constipation, bloating, heart burn, esophageal reflux), menstrual problems/menopausal symptoms (including hot flashes), post-herpetic neuralgia, post-stroke rehabilitation and other conditions.
Elsie believes in a holistic approach to treatment and thinks preventative care and maintenance of good health are essential. She works to not only treat symptoms, but also takes extra time to discuss with each patient their life style, habits and history, working to identify the root problems of their ailments.
